Permanent position will be in Franklin Square, NY.
Medicaid Eligibility Specialist is responsible for processing Medicaid applications and recertifications.
The Specialist acts as an advocate for the member, but also serves as a liaison for the clients we facilitate.
Must be able to work independently and capable of managing a heavy workload.
Medicaid Certified Application Counselor (CAC) with NY State of Health.
Primary job duties and requirements:
Knowledge of Medicaid eligibility and budgeting guidelines Provide assistance to current and prospective consumers in relations to Medicaid enrollment or additional financial options available Conduct patient interviews to obtain the appropriate documentation required to determine which program a patient will be eligible for Process Medicaid applications and recertification's for potential consumers through the Local Department of Social Services or through the NY State Exchange/Marketplace Investigate Medicaid issues related to eligibility, deferrals, denials and recertification's Provide outstanding customer service, written and oral communication skills Essential:
